Diverted Destruction 6 at CAAM and The Loft at Liz's
January 1, 2013 – December 1, 2014
The California African American Museum and The Loft at Liz's co-curate this year's Diverted Destruction 6 found object assemblage show. Diverted Destruction, now in its sixth year, presents works from cast-off objects often destined to the landfill. This show marks the first time the museum will be collaborating with a private gallery to introduce local African American artists to new audiences at new venues.
Artists at CAAM include Dale Brockman Davis (Orbital Consequences), Derrick Maddox (Who Can Trap the Wind?) and Richard Turner (Lesser Saints and Random Thoughts). Recently, CAAM has added two more installations by Rosalyn Myles (The Gentrification Game) and Joseph Sims (Profiling Life). The artists at The Loft at Liz's are Dale Brockman Davis, Charles Dickson, Doug Pearsall, Teresa Tolliver and Timothy Washington. Additional artists at The Loft are Max Finkelstein, Matjames Metson, Dennis Blevins and Haitian artist CHEBY.
The Loft at Liz's is located at 453 S. La Brea Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90036.
