CAAM invites you to support its mission by volunteering or becoming a docent. Docents should possess good interpersonal and communication skills as well as be able to interact with diverse audiences. Volunteer Docent Council
CAAM’s volunteer program began in December of 1982. Docent Council members help promote the Museum and its projects and implement special events, and they work together with museum staff to help raise the profile of the Museum in the community. The Docent Council serves the Museum by conducting guided tours for schools and other special interest groups, both during Museum hours and at CAAM’s evening events and programs. Twice a year, new members are invited to join the council after completing a thorough training on how to become a museum docent. In a series of Saturday sessions, prospective members are guided through the mechanics of writing a tour script and leading tours, the basic elements of viewing and speaking about art, the history of CAAM, and more.
*CAAM’s Volunteer Docent Council is currently not accepting new applications. Once we are up and running with our new training, the application site will be reopened.
