Charles Dickson is a prolific artist widely known for his ability to create sculptural objects using materials such as found objects, wood, metal, and glass. During his creative process, Dickson imagines the raw materials before him being transformed into images, elements, and shapes that represent and symbolize the essence of his final concept. Through this rendering process a metaphor emerges, illustrating how the artist conveys his views about a particular subject. For CAAM's Courtyard Series, Dickson creates five sculptural "metaphors" consisting of various mediums that transform the space, tell a story, and engage the viewer.
