Acclaimed photojournalist Irene Fertik shares a decade of images of Ethiopian communities establishing themselves in the environs of Israel and Los Angeles from 1992 through 2012. Through her photographs, Fertik allows us to view the complex story of a people facing the challenges of starting anew in an unfamiliar land. The forty-two images feature Ethiopian Jews who have relocated to their religious homeland, Israel, and Ethiopians of various faiths who have made Los Angeles their home.
