Good news! CAAM reopens on May 22 with the new exhibition Paula Wilson: Toward the Sky’s Back Door. Come and get an early look at Simone Leigh, which officially opens May 26, 2024, at CAAM and LACMA.

CAAM will remain closed through the month of November as we complete storm-related repairs. Public programs slated to happen at CAAM in November are postponed. We are eager to reopen and will announce that date as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of concern and support.

As most of you know, Southern California experienced a highly unusual tropical storm August 20-21. Unfortunately, water intrusion occurred in several areas of our facility.

As we survey and repair the damage to our building, we now know we must remain closed at least through October. Public programs slated to happen at CAAM in September and October are postponed.

We are eager to welcome visitors back into the galleries as soon as possible, and will communicate our reopening date when it is firm. In the meantime, in September we are happy to open the exhibition Bahia Reverb: Artists and Place at Art + Practice, and will be presenting related programs there in Leimert Park.
