CAAM’s monthly book club continues this spring with titles selected in conjunction with Plumb Line: Charles White and the Contemporary. April’s book is Black Arts West: Culture and Struggle in Postwar Los Angeles by Daniel Widener. May's selection is While the World Watched: A Birmingham Bombing Survivor Comes of Age during the Civil Rights Movement written by Carolyn Maull McKinstry. In June, we discuss Alain Locke’s The New Negro. Join us for lively afternoons of spirited discourse moderated by CAAM’s research librarian, Denise L. Mc Iver.
