Black California Dreamin’ features historical photographs and memorabilia along with contemporary artworks that illuminate Black leisure practices in California, as well as confront white supremacy. The objects in the exhibition tell stories of self-determination, geographic and social mobility, beauty and gender standards, and cultural identity.
